This is one of the reasons I prefer it. I can use it on Windows, Linux, or OS X. It took me many years to fall in love with it however. When I first started using Linux, I used a program called KVirc. This was much like mIRC, which I had used on Windows for a while. After getting used to XChat on Linux, I had to have it on Windows and OS X.
